It’s a good article and doesn’t overblow the risks or safety as I’ve seen just on Medium today. This is the stuff you have control over, but what about work, school, etc.? Also — masks really don’t do anything unless you observe full barrier methods — i.e. don’t touch the mask even when putting it on or taking it off. You won’t catch it from breathing it in, you will catch it from touching your face. There’s a popular misconception in the west when they see pictures of Asian people in public wearing masks. I used to live in Japan, and the custom there is to wear a mask if you have a cold — to protect others. But this is also in a culture where, though sick leave is protected by labour law, most people never call in sick, and if really ill, use their holiday instead.
